2016 Love List

2016 has been quite the year and it is almost another year gone. Here are the things I loved the most.

Books

The best book I read this year, hands down, was The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. I feel like this book changed my life, and I plan on reading it again in 2017. It is a quick read filled to the brim with meaning and beauty. Not far behind is Into The Wild by Jon Krakauer.

Recipes & Food

Quinoa Taco Meat by Dana, The Minimalist Baker, has been by far my favorite food discovery this year, and I've dubbed it 'Quinoa Crack' because it is highly addictive. If I could eat this every single day I would. Also, this oops moment.

My Mum's cheese and chive muffins are also to die for, especially fresh out of the oven when they are still toasty. I can eat 4 in one sitting.

The nasty little pretzel bites from Meyers. They are so bad, that they are good.

Apple crisp made with brown sugar and rolled oats. It tastes amazing served cold in the summer with vanilla ice cream.

My Mum's cheesy potato dish that I make for Ry and I every Christmas. Recipe coming soon!

Places

The Tree House tucked away in Durham Ontario is what dreams are made of, and is a memory I will always cherish. You can read more about mine and Ry's visit here.

Stratford has become mine and Ry's little go to place for a day out.

Sifton Bog was a little slice of Mother Nature that I desperately needed, and made for some lovely photographs, and an even lovelier day out with my Mama.

Port Stanley was a day of fun in the sun with my sweetheart.

Restaurants

Cracklins Fish and Chips, oh my. This is on my 2017 bucket list that is how good it was. I had the Pollock and chips special for $5 and it was the best $5 I spent last year.

Tobbogan's margarita pizza is the best. It is a simple, traditional pizza with mozzarella, basil, tomato sauce and a thin sauce. I need this in my life right now.

This dessert at Wich is Wich is heaven on a plate.

Lickity Split ice cream. Bubblegum flavor for the win.
